RE.SIS.TO. Project

They are the set of methods on which RE.SIS.TO. Project is based, the service provided through our mobile application. The fast and cost-effective solution that was missing to assess the seismic vulnerability of your home.

It is a multi-platform IT-based service that provides customers with a network of professionals trained on expeditious methodologies that were made to assess the vulnerabilities of the building heritage.

RE.SIS.TO. Project is the set of expeditious methodologies developed in collaboration with the University of Bologna since 2009 for the assessment of the seismic vulnerability of buildings in: masonry, reinforced concrete, prefabricated buildings, steel and mixed structures.

RE.SIS.TO. Project allows building managers to assess all their structures through expeditious procedures obtaining a comparative picture of the works, which allows to determine:

  • priority for action
  • most critical elements
  • inspection activities planning
  • Budgeting (OPEX)

LET US BE CLEAR

How can we evaluate the seismic safety of buildings?

There are two possible evaluations you can do:

  • Static evaluation
  • Dynamic evaluation

The two of them are often confused and people do not know how to correctly identify them due to the complexity of the subject and their results, we will therefore explain the differences.

METHODOLOGY COMPARISON

STATIC EVALUATION

The static evaluations are aimed at understanding, in the absence of seismic events, if a building stays upright considering its weight and imposed load, we find:

  • the investigation, which has no normative reference, only examines the statics, it does not refer to the NTC’18 regulation and therefore it is not obligatory to implement an inspection process.
  • the static suitability with the DD.MM 15/05/1985 and 20/09/1985 normative reference only examines the statics, it does not refer to the NTC’08 regulation and it is connected to the safety standards compliance of a building.

DYNAMIC EVALUATION

The dynamic evaluations are aimed at understanding the behaviour of a building in the event of an earthquake and, in particular, at determining the seismic resistance of a building. They include: simplified evaluation, expeditious evaluation such as RE.SIS.TO. and the NTC’18.

All these evaluations have a normative reference and they differ from each other in the depth of the study, the time required to carry it out and the economic value it entails.

The On-Site diagnostic process

With our RE.SIS.TO. multi-platform service, it is possible to upload all the necessary elements online before the inspection: documents, on-site photos, comments from the engineers and it is also possible to produce a final pdf file with a summary of the procedure with just one click.

PRELIMINARY OPERATIONS

Search for archival documents and historical materials; detailed inspections; general measurement of a building; survey with photographic campaign, and cover meter and sclerometer tests.

PROVIDED DOCUMENTATION

A report with the implementation of the Expeditious Method for the  Seismic Vulnerability Assessment of buildings, completion of the CNR (National Research Council) – GNDT (National Earthquake Defense Group) II level datasheet, summary sheet, photographic documentation.

DATA PROCESSING

RE.SIS.TO classification and issuing of the Structural Identity Card.
